Emergency electricians in Kent: a team you can rely on

Electrical emergencies do not keep office hours. If emergency attendance is requested, an engineer will be dispatched to you within 30 minutes.

Whether it is a loss of power, a repeatedly tripping circuit or visible damage, the first job is always to make the installation safe — then diagnose properly and explain what we found.

What makes a small job small

One extra point in a room sounds like the smallest job in the house — and the fitting on the end of it is rarely what makes it complicated. What decides the size of the job is the circuit that point joins, and how much is already on it.

On a healthy circuit with a modern board, an addition is straightforward work. On a crowded or older circuit it is a different job, because the circuit has to carry the addition and the protection has to suit it, and that only becomes visible once the circuit has been tested.

Where it is not obvious which of the two it is, testing the circuit is what settles it — and that is what the price is then based on. Describe the job by phone or email and we will tell you what we think is involved.

New builds, extensions and refurbishments

New builds, extensions and refurbishments

From new builds and extensions to renovations and refurbishments, we design and install safe, efficient electrical systems. Most of that work happens before anyone sees it, and the decisions that are cheap now and awkward later are all made while the walls are still open.

At first fix, while the cables are run, the questions get settled: where the sockets land, whether the kitchen has enough dedicated circuits, whether a spare way is left in the board for a charge point or an array. At second fix the accessories go on, the circuits are tested and the readings are recorded.

Lighting, automation and data cabling

We install internal and external lighting solutions that improve both functionality and appearance, tailored to your home, with dimming, transformers and drivers matched to the fittings you have chosen. Outside, the circuit and the protection matter as much as the fitting — garden and driveway lighting spends its whole life in the weather.

Automation systems let you control lighting, heating and other devices with ease, and they are far easier to install well when the wiring has been planned for them. What a smart switch needs at the switch position is simple to provide while a wall is open, and much less so once it is closed up.

We also install structured data cabling to improve connectivity and network performance within your home. A cable run to the room that actually needs the connection is a more reliable answer than another repeater, and it is worth doing at the same time as any work that already opens up the walls.

The team that wires the house also fits the solar

The team that wires the house also fits the solar

We regularly undertake training to stay up to date with best practice, including EV charging and solar PV. That matters more than it sounds — a charge point or a solar array is a domestic electrical job before it is a renewables job.

It lands on your incoming supply, your consumer unit and your protective devices, and if those cannot carry it, nothing on the roof makes the installation safe. Because the same electricians survey the house and design the system, that question gets answered once rather than passed between two trades.

That also sets the order of work: a board or a circuit that needs attention is better dealt with while the walls or the loft are already open than on a separate visit later. Where solar is part of the conversation, a clear return-on-investment calculation is provided, so the decision gets made on the numbers.

09 Questions

Asked
most often.

How do I know if I need electrical maintenance for my home or business?

Identifying the need for electrical maintenance in your home or business involves paying attention to signs and conducting periodic checks: Do you face frequent electrical issues – blown fuses, tripped circuit breakers, flickering lights, regular power outages? If your property has old wiring, it may be time for an upgrade. Do you get unusual odours or see sparks when using electrical outlets or switches? Have you experienced mild shocks when using appliances or switches of late? Sudden spikes in energy bills can also be a signal that you need electrical maintenance immediately. Our team will help you with inspections, repair, maintenance, and other crucial electrical services.

How do I know when the wiring needs inspecting?

The state of the installation matters more than the calendar. Rewireable fuses, a board with no RCD protection, or wiring that has never been tested since it went in are all reasons to look sooner. An Electrical Installation Condition Report is what tells you where it actually stands.

Can part of a house be rewired, or does it have to be all of it?

That depends on what testing finds rather than on the age of the house. Where the wiring generally tests sound and the trouble is confined to one or two circuits, such as a lighting circuit with no earth at the switches or a kitchen that has outgrown its supply, those circuits can be replaced and the rest left alone. Where the insulation readings are poor right across the installation, replacing part of it only leaves the rest to fail later.

Will the whole house be without power while you work?

Some jobs do need the whole property off for a period, such as changing a consumer unit or any work at the origin of the supply, and that is agreed with you beforehand so you can plan around it. The supply is restored and the affected circuits are tested before we leave.
