I had solar panels, an inverter, a storage battery and a Zappi EV charger installed. Max, Alex and Steve did a cracking job and were very efficient with their time. They started nice and early and explained their plan to me and answered all my questions. The quality of work was superb, everything measured and lined up perfectly. They finished in exactly the time they planned and tidied up everything and took all the packaging with them! I would thoroughly recommend Coutts Electrical to carry out your work, they are a great team and work together well. I will be using their services again when I increase my battery storage. Thanks for a brilliant job :-)

Max and his team fitted 13 solar panels to our house. The process was very smooth and progressional from start to finish. Max is experienced and knowledgable on solar power and provided good advice on our options. The products he installs are good quality and his pricing reasonable. It’s still early days but so far I would fully recommend his services.

07 Questions from Sevenoaks

Asked here,
answered with the data.

Every answer below is built from the sourced figures on this page.

Which electricity network covers Sevenoaks?

Sevenoaks is on South Eastern Power Networks (SPN), run by UK Power Networks. Any solar, battery or EV charger install is notified to them under the G98 or G99 process, which Coutts handle as part of every job.

How much electricity would solar panels generate on a house in Sevenoaks?

PVGIS models about 4,192 kWh a year for a 4 kWp south-facing array at Sevenoaks' coordinates, assuming an unshaded roof at 35°. East- or west-facing roofs produce less, and a survey is the only way to size a real system.

How many homes in the Sevenoaks District already have solar panels?

DESNZ recorded 3,282 solar PV installations in the Sevenoaks District at the end of 2025, up 84% since 2020 — about 6.7% of its estimated 49,000 households.

Do I need planning permission for solar panels in Sevenoaks?

Most roof-mounted solar on a house in England is permitted development under Schedule 2, Part 14, Class A of the General Permitted Development Order 2015, subject to its conditions. Listed buildings and some conservation-area roofs facing a highway are treated differently, so check with Sevenoaks District council before work starts if either applies.

Do Coutts cover emergency call-outs in Sevenoaks?

Yes. Coutts Electrical are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and where emergency attendance is requested an engineer is dispatched within 30 minutes. Sevenoaks is 8.6 miles from the Keston office.
